8/15/2015 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Other On Saturday August 15th, 2015 Sportsman’s Warehouse of Silverdale Washington would like to invite five Boy Scout Troops and five Girl Scout Troops to be involved in a cast iron cook off competition. This is not a competition between the boys and girls but a competition between all of the troops that are present. The troops will be asked to arrive at the Sportsman’s Warehouse location at 9 AM for set up and to have their meals and presentation prepared for the judging by 2:00 PM. Each troop will be responsible to bring their own cooking equipment, supplies, table (small card or camping table), two chairs, a canopy (if you want to get out of the sun), and food to be prepared (in a cooler if applicable). The troops will need to prepare one main dish, a vegetable, and a dessert. We will be awarding prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place which are outlined below. Every troop will be awarded something for their participation. The judging will be done by local independent judges which have years of experience in cast iron cooking. We have outlined the areas of expertise and the possible points below. There will be other non-profits and a free fishing pond at the location on that day. This will be a great event with a sizeable amount of foot traffic. Your organization is welcome to setup a recruitment/informational booth to help the community become more aware of what a great experience scouting can be. Please let me know if you would like to participate as soon as possible due to alignment of advertising and the materials for advertising this event. I will also need the troop numbers/names, names of troop leadership, and email/phone contact information for these troops. The first five troops from both scouting organizations to contact me will be in the event. Please contact me via email or phone if you have any questions or concerns regarding this event. We took Second Place - Chicken Risotto, Brussell Sprouts Au Gratin, and Cannoli |
