3/7/2009 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Other We are doing the Challenger Mission to Mars- Scouts get to man Mission Control and parts of the spacecraft to conduct a simulated mission-- Cost for the entire day will be ~25/scout (including transportation) - if we get at least 25 scouts! - the max is 25- so once there are 25 the event is closed-- 0800 - meet at the VFW hall - the Post is serving Breakfast for $5 - excellent opportunity to fuel up before we leave (and support the Post!) - this is also were you are going to be assigned your positions for the mission (Charlie is coordinating that part) 0845 - depart for the Museum of Flight (we need drivers! - I am assuming those adults signed up are volunteering to drive?) 11 AM - 1 PM - our scheduled mission at the Museum 1:30 - lunch at the museum cafe - you cannot bring in food from the outside, so bring cash to eat there 1:30-2:30 explore the museum 2:30 - depart for home 4:00 arrive at VFW hall for pickup by parents Cost - mission is $500 total for the 28 participants - to make it easy, we are going with $25 each (to cover the cost of gas/tolls for the drivers) - we are driving around so we don't have to worry about ferry schedules Breakfast at the hall is optional- but you need to be there by 8 for your assignment and pre-mission briefing Uniform is Class A (with Beret) for the Troop- Check out their site |
