Email Ethan/Mary Wetherby at maryandphilip@comcast.net

If you are planning on attending the first meeting (and so I can compile a group email for a reminder. Send the scout’s name and a good email address).

Before making the RSVP, you should look at the requirements and the workbook to see if it is something that you want to take on right now. This badge requires you to be doing some tracking of expenses for a minimum of 13 weeks. You will have to work on your own to finish your workbook requirements and be ready to conference again with Ms. Westerback sometime in September.

YOU MUST PRINT YOUR OWN COPY OF THE WORKBOOK and COMPLETE THE ASTERISK ITEMS BELOW. THEN BRING THE WORKBOOK WITH YOU TO THE FIRST MEETING.

AT THIS FIRST MEETING -- May Westerback will be there to meet with you and discuss and possibly approve your personal/family project. You need to do this step with her so that you don't waste your time on something that doesn't meet the criteria. In order to meet with Ms. Westerback on May 30th you should come with the following asterisk workbook questions ALREADY completed:

* Complete all of item 1 (a, b & c), except for the line where it says "Discuss the plan with your merit badge counselor" - you will do that with Ms. Westerback.
* Prepare a budget reflecting your expected income (allowance, gifts, wages), expenses, and savings for 13 weeks (item 2a). You will be tracking your expenses for 13 weeks to compare to your expectations, so be realistic!

At the first meeting, we will be talking about the concepts for the rest of the workbook, so come ready to learn! You will then get yourself prepared for the next meeting-- a one-on-one meeting with Ms. Westerback, where you will demonstrate your knowledge and discuss the rest of the contents of the workbook.
